Our Recycling Process
At Nolan Recycling, we operate a fully licensed waste transfer station, built to handle a wide variety of commercial, construction, and domestic waste streams. Our goal is to maximise recycling, minimise landfill, and provide full transparency at every step.
Every load entering our site is first weighed using our calibrated weighbridge, with both digital and paper Waste Transfer Notes (WTNs) issued for full legal compliance. This ensures all materials are tracked accurately from the moment they arrive.
Vehicles are then directed to a waiting bay until called to tip off. Once the waste is tipped, our team performs manual and visual checks to identify and remove any contaminants or non-conforming materials. This step ensures that recyclable streams remain clean and compliant.
We use a manual hand-sorting process to carefully separate a wide range of materials, including:
Wood
Cardboard & paper
Glass
Plastic
Plasterboard
Aggregates & soil
This labour-intensive approach ensures a high level of material recovery and minimal contamination.
For soil and hardcore waste, we use an on-site trommel screening system to separate fines from clean aggregates. This allows us to recover usable materials for secondary use and reduce the volume of waste sent for final disposal.
Recyclables such as cardboard and plastics are compacted and baled on-site, ready for efficient onward transport to specialist reprocessors. This step reduces haulage costs, improves storage, and supports cleaner supply chains.
Once sorted and processed, materials are bulked and stored in segregated bays before being transported to authorised recycling and recovery facilities.
We work with a network of trusted partners to ensure waste is handled responsibly.
