Sustainability in Action

Step 1 - Collection / Arrival

At Nolan Recycling, recycled aggregate materials arrive through our reliable skip hire services from construction, demolition, and redevelopment sites, as well as direct deliveries from trade partners and on-site clearance projects.

Step 2 - Manual & Mechanical Sorting

Each load is expertly hand-sorted to remove as much large contamination before it is mechanically processed on our trommel where it is sorted further by hand and by machine into smaller fractions / fines. This ensures only clean concrete, bricks, and stone are processedinto high-quality recycled aggregates.

Step 3 - Applications of Recycled Aggregates

Our recycled aggregates are then used for:

  • Road sub-bases
  • Driveways
  • Foundations
  • Drainage
  • Stabilisation
  • Landscaping
  • Driveways

Step 4 - Why It Matters:

Recycled aggregates play a vital role in promoting a circular economy by transforming construction waste into valuable resources, significantly reducing landfill use and reliance on virgin materials. They are environmentally friendly, helping to cut carbon emissions, conserve energy, and preserve natural resources.

High in quality and performance, recycled aggregates are suitable for a wide range of construction applications, from road sub-bases to drainage layers, and offer a cost-effective alternative with lower transport and production costs. As the UK leads Europe in aggregate recycling with around 30% of supply now coming from recycled sources, choosing recycled aggregates supports sustainable construction and the national shift toward greener infrastructure.
